Mitsubishi-Lancer-Evo-Special-Edition

Once again, forbidden fruit is being trotted out in front of the North American enthusiast community, this time from Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi UK has unveiled the production limited Lancer Evolution X FQ-440 MR special edition to celebrate the brand’s 40th year in the UK. The car keeps its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but thanks to a bevy of new go-fast goodies the engine makes 440 hp and 412 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed dual clutch transmission.

To hit that horsepower number, this special edition EVO includes an ECU re-map, an HKS Turbo, a Janspeed exhaust setup, new intake and intercooler, a tubular manifold and high-flow fuel injectors. When it comes to handling, the car is lowered by 35 mm in the front and 30 mm in the rear, it is fit with Eibach coil springs and of course it retains Mitsubishi’s full time four-wheel drive setup.

Only 40 examples will be built, and each one will only be available in Frost White. Also, style will be enhanced by 18-inch BBS alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights and front fog lamps. Inside, Recaro bucket seats will help hold you in place, while the car also gets an upgraded sound system, navigation, bluetooth and a 7-inch display screen.

Mitsubishi is also including a data recorder as part of the vehicle’s warranty. Plugged into the on-board diagnostic system, the recorder will detail driving style, performance and vehicle diagnostics, and the info will be available to Mitsubishi and the car’s owner. A three-year subscription is included in the price.

Coming to price, Mitsubishi isn’t letting these special editions go cheap, as each one will cost £50,000.
