Mitsubishi is working on a new compact sedan model that will replace the Lancer.
The company has confirmed that a replacement for the Lancer is on the way and will be sourced from the Renault-Nissan alliance. Though details are light at the moment, executives from the companies are studying which model would fit the Japanese automaker’s lineup best as a replacement for the Lancer. Naturally, the model will be a global one just like the Lancer, which has recently struggled in sales.

It is expected that additional details will surface in the coming months on the new model and is at least a couple of years away from arriving at showrooms.
