Mitsubishi is recalling 82,436 vehicles to address an issue with their continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The recall affects the 2015-2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, 2016 Outlander and 2016 Lancer models, which are equipped with a Jatco-sourced CVT that the Japanese automaker calls a constant velocity transmission.
According to the recall notice, the CVTs in the affected vehicles can momentarily lose signal and delay acceleration, potentially increasing the risk of an accident. Currently it is unknown if any injuries or deaths are related to the issue.
