Official pricing on the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage has been announced, with the base DE model starting from $13,720 including a $725 destination fee.
That base price nabs you a manual transmission-equipped Mirage, powered by the automaker’s 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine with 74 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. While the five-door sub-compact vehicle isn’t exactly known for its performance, the Mirage does boast the title of being the most fuel-efficient, non-hybrid gasoline-powered vehicle available in America. It has an EPA rated fuel economy of 44 mpg on the highway when equipped with the CVT transmission. Speaking of CVT transmissions, you’ll have to add $1,000 to each model’s pricing in order to get your hands on the fuel-saving technology.
As for the higher-end Mirage ES model, buyers will get all the standard features of the DE model with the addition of Free-hand Advanced Security Transmitter (FAST) key passive entry, One-Touch Start/Stop engine switch, Bluetooth, steering-wheel mounted cruise and audio controls, 14-inch wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, fog lights, silver interior accent trim, and other features. Pricing on the ES model starts from $14,920 for the five-speed manual, with the CVT costing $1,000 extra.
At the top of the Mirage’s lineup is an ES model with the CVT transmission and Navigation Package, which starts at $16,820. The Navigation System also adds a rear-view camera system to the sub compact.
Destination is $195 additional for Alaska and Hawaii.
