Mitsubishi is debuting a sedan version of the Mirage at the Montreal Auto Show, which may make its way into US showrooms.
Mitsubishi revealed the concept G4 at the Shangai motor show last year as a precursor to this car, which is basically a Mirage sedan. Based on new teaser photos released by Mitsubishi Canada, the Mirage G4 coming to Montreal appears to be a production ready version of the Shanghai concept.
The car will proceed from the Montreal auto show to other Canadian cities on the show circuit as a feasibility study because Mitsubishi has yet to decide whether or not this car will come to North America. ”We are considering making it into a North American car but are still working on the timing of the launch,” wrote Mitsubishi manager of product communications, Roger Yasukawa.
Further hinting at the car coming to the States, the press release for the concept G4 says that the car is a “ new compact sedan which MMC plans to roll out globally.”
If it does come, expect the car to use the same powertrain as the current Mirage, a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine that makes 74 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque.
