Mitsubishi has confirmed that 2015 will be the last year of production for its top performance car, the Lancer Evolution.
In many other world markets the Lancer Evolution has already been discontinued, but it lives on for one more year here in the US. To try and keep it fresh, a host of small updates were given to the car for its final year, though all the vital stats stay the same.
Exactly what will replace the Lancer Evolution is still a mystery, although we do know it will almost certainly feature some sort of hybrid powertrain. The latest report suggests that the new sports car from the Japanese brand will be closer to what the old 3000GT was, featuring a 2+2 coupe body style.

Another report suggests the new car will use the powertrain from the XR-PHEV Concept, a 1.1-liter direct-injection turbo MIVEC engine that’s assisted by a high-efficiency electric motor and a high-capacity battery pack.
