Continuing its push in the electric vehicle segment, Mitsubishi will introduce an all-new electric vehicle tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, with both a style and an emissions free range far superior to the i-MiEV.
While the Mitsubishi i-MiEV might be an incredibly efficient electric car, it’s also a rather basic piece of transportation that looks like nothing you’d want to be seen driving in. Thanks to photos of the car that have leaked out in advance of its debut, it’s obvious that big brother CA-MiEV changes all that with some stylish (though rather Prius-like) bodywork.
As for the range, Mitsubishi is promising 186 miles (300 km), which adds roughly 100 miles to that of the i-MiEV. As a result it’s being billed as a suburban EV, rather than just a utilitarian city car.
While full details aren’t yet available, Mitsubishi says the CA-MiEV will use a new EV system, advanced aerodynamics and lightweight components. It will also gain more features to make it liveable in daily use, including smartphone functions, plus wireless charging.
