Mitsubishi will debut a pair of electrified concept vehicles at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, including a small commuter car and large diesel-hybrid pickup truck which has just been leaked onto the web.
Leaked photos show off the GR-HEV concept’s style, which looks akin to a Honda Ridgeline with some futuristic details. The truck is said to be a one-ton, and will use Mitsubishi’s Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) AWD system to get power down to all four wheels. That force will come from a diesel engine connected to a hybrid drive unit, details on which are still unknown.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Co. (owned by Daimler AG) already produces a hybrid-diesel truck called the Canter Eco Hybrid that is sold in worldwide markets, which uses a 123 hp turbocharged diesel engine along with a 47 hp electric motor. This setup could be adapted to the smaller GR-HEV, though we won’t know until the concept debuts.
Whether this new hybrid pickup truck will be the successor to the Mitsubishi L200 is also unknown, though that truck has been around since 2006.
Watch for more details in the upcoming days live from the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
