Looking like an even more futuristic version of Toyota’s Prius, Mitsubishi has revealed what could be a revolutionary new product for the brand today at the Geneva Motor Show, offering 186 miles of all electric, zero-emissions range.
Taking three years of feedback from its tiny and and rather Spartan i-MiEV, the CA-MiEV is a look at a future vehicle and future technologies that would allow mainstream electric cars to leave the cities and venture out into the suburbs with enough range to make the return trip with ease.
Mitsubishi says the car is not yet planned for production though does call it, “a declaration of intent, stressing the return to Engineering’s primacy within the corporation to better serve (global) customer demand.”

With a 0.26 cd it is the most aerodynamic car in its segment, in the shape of a 5 door hatchback.
Energy comes from a next-generation compact flat battery pack, with an all-in-one power unit comprised of an 80 kW motor, an inverter and a charger, with high density lithium-ion batteries take up less space and offer more power. That motor rating will give the car roughly 107 hp, and being an electric car will certainly deliver a strong dose of torque.
Yet another innovation showcased on the CA-MiEV is magnetic resonance wireless charging technology, meaning this EV not only offers more livable range but doesn’t need to be plugged in.
A look into the future of more than just electric car technology, the CA-MiEV also features new innovations Mitsubishi hopes to bring to vehicles across its range including smartphone applications to pre-heat the vehicle, start the car and open the doors, with email alerts if the car is stolen or in case of emergency.
